Takis ‘Aeolian’ (1986) at Hôtel de la Marine
White Cube presents ‘Aeolian’ (1986), a large-scale kinetic sculpture by the late Greek artist Takis, displayed outdoors in the historic courtyard of the Hôtel de la Marine at Place de la Concorde. Harnessing wind power to generate movement, Takis’ ‘Aeolian’ series encapsulates the artist’s fascination with nature’s invisible energies, realised through towering sculptural elements that engage dynamically with their surroundings. This significant work is on display ahead of the upcoming solo exhibition at White Cube Paris (21 November 2024 – 11 January 2025), dedicated to the relationship between the pioneering artist and the city of Paris.
