The Senate of the Athens School of Fine Arts (July 5, 2018 session), recognising the world-class work and prominent personality of the sculptor Takis, unanimously decided to award him with the title of Honorary Doctor of the Visual Arts Department of the Athens School of Fine Arts.
The ceremony took place at 18.30 on Thursday the 17th of January, 2019 at the De Chirico amphitheater of the Athens School of Fine Arts, 256 Piraeus Ave. Athens.
This is not the first time that the Athens School of Fine Arts honors and recognizes the talent of the most important Greek sculptor and pioneer of kinetic art. In 1994 the University took over the organization of the retrospective exhibition of the artist that preceded on 1993 by the National Gallery of the Museum Jeu de Paume.
